Evie co-manages the Astia Angels network, participates in Astia thought leadership, oversees the local market activities, and, along with colleagues, orchestrates Astia’s global Expert Sift™ sourcing and screening process that is designed to ensure continuous best-in-class deal flow at Astia. Since the formation of Astia Angels, a global investment network investing in companies with women leaders, Evie dedicates the majority of her time to dealflow curation, deal execution and portfolio management for the global investment group.

Evie joined Astia in San Francisco in April 2008 as the organisation started its period of sustained growth beyond Silicon Valley to the global organisation it is today. Evie led the organisation’s international expansion.

Prior to Astia, Evie practiced law in the UK as a banking and finance lawyer acting as the lead lawyer for both leading lenders and corporate borrowers on numerous multi-jurisdictional multi-million pound commercial lending transactions. She worked in private practice as well as at investment bank Barclays Capital. Evie achieved an LL.B (Law) at the University of Manchester and received a Distinction on completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of the West of England.

Pitching for Success – Morning Session

John Henry Brookes Lecture Theatre

Pitching for Success will be to an audience that includes investors, support organisations and individuals.

Each session will include a panel made up of professional funding organisations; including speakers from crowd investment (Peer2Peer, equity, loans), venture capital and public sector funding. Each investor panel speaker will give an overview of what they look for when investing or funding a company followed by Q&A with the audience.

As well as the live pitches and investor panels, the companies from both sessions will be available in the foyer of the John Henry Brookes Lecture Theatre for networking.
