Downstream Business Applications Manager, European Space Agency

Mrs. Roberta Mugellesi Dow is a business applications manager in the Downstream Business Applications Department of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Harwell, UK. She has been involved as project manager in the development of more than 40 services dealing with transport, maritime, fishing and infrastructure monitoring. Since 2011 she is supporting the ESA corporate approach to knowledge and information management in the ESA Director General services. She has received 8 awards and has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. She holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics and an MBA in International Business from the Schiller University of Heidelberg, DE. She is member of the International program Committe of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA).

How space-enabled applications are impacting daily life

For the UK space industry to reach its target of 10% of the global space market by 2030, many more space-enabled applications will need to be developed and adopted in the UK and beyond. Many of the 80 space organisations at the Harwell Space Cluster are already developing applications that will help companies save money and improve lives globally. This all female panel will highlight a few of these and the potential applications of the future in 2019 and beyond.
