Travel Information

This year’s event will take place both in person and online. The travel information included below is for those attending the event in person only.

By Car

If you are driving to the event, please park in the visitor car park on Frome Road, accessed via the A4185. The car park is a 10-minute walk to the reception. See below the map of the car park and walking route.

You can download the car park and walking directions map here.

If you require an EV charging point, there are a couple available at the RAL Reception on a first come, first served basis.

By Train

Didcot Parkway is the closest rail station to the campus, 5 miles away and there is a taxi rank at the station. There is also a Harwell Connector Bus from the station to Harwell Campus which runs on a regular basis.

By Bike

If cycling to the event, please go straight to the RAL Reception on arrival. There are several bike parks on the campus and the registration team will direct you to the nearest one on arrival.

By Bus

There are a few buses that stop at the Harwell Campus, including the Science Transit Shuttle from Oxford. For more information and timetables, please visit the Oxford Bus Company website.  You can also download the route map here.

From Didcot the connector 98 is the most direct route. View the timetable here.

Venue

The event will be held in the STFC Visitor Centre and Pickavance Lecture Theatre, at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. After you have collected your badge at RAL Reception, you will be directed to the session rooms.
