Richardsons Chartered Accountants

Richardsons Chartered Accountants are delighted to continue with their support for Venturefest 2019, thus pledging their continued commitment to innovation and technology in Oxfordshire.  This will be their seventeenth year as honorary auditors, making them one of Venturefest’s longest standing supporters.

The team at Richardsons work with clients in a broad range of industries, predominantly in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.  These are both small and medium sized owner-managed enterprises, as well as a number of large companies, subsidiaries of overseas groups and private individuals.

Richardsons has a strong reputation in dealing with technology start-ups, with much of the business from this sector being spin-outs from Oxford University and the science parks around Oxfordshire, such as Harwell and Culham.

Meet the experts

Alison Richardson

Alison is a partner of Richardsons, where she has over 20 years of experience supporting corporate clients with their accounting, audit and tax needs. Alison specialises in the technology sector, helping companies with R&D tax credits, SEIS, EIS and other available tax reliefs, along with grant audits required by Innovate UK, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Research Executive Agency and others.

Simon Husband

After graduating in Computer Science from Clare College, Cambridge in 1980, Simon trained with one of Richardsons’ predecessor firms, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. Since then, he has been a key member of the team which built the current practice from scratch. It is not surprising, given his background, that a large part of Simon’s active client portfolio revolves around the commercialisation of technology, where his specialist knowledge, including R&D Tax Credits, is invaluable. However, his wide experience as a generalist has included advising many clients on business strategy and tax planning, and one of his favourite challenges is building bespoke financial models for new and growing enterprises to include in their business plans.

Jemima King

Jemima qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2009. During her training within the audit department at a local Oxford based firm, she obtained extensive audit experience working with large corporate clients, not-for-profit organisations, charities, schools, universities, pension schemes, solicitors and housing associations. Since joining Richardsons in 2010, Jemima has been responsible for a portfolio of clients ranging from start-up businesses through to international multi-million pound companies from a wide range of sectors. Jemima’s involvement in clients from the technology sector has grown extensively and she now plays a key role in advising on a broad range of issues, such as obtaining R&D tax credits and the completion of grant audits.
