Oxford Dynamic Consent

Only 10% of drugs and devices researched today, will make it to market. In a £40B clinical trial market, issues include finding and enrolling the correct patients and 1/3 of costs are spent on patient recruitment and engaging with patients to prevent them dropping out of trials. Additionally, 40% of research sites contracted to recruit for trails fail to recruit any subjects and consent standards is one of the top reasons for regulatory audit failures for pharma and device companies today.

Oxford Dynamic Consent (OxDC) has a cloud based, virtual clinical trial solution, for the recruitment and engagement of patients in trials or biobanks that can reduce the costs of clinical trials. The system creates transparency and empowers consumers to make choices about their particiaption, and how their data and tissues samples are used. To date, the company has over 1000 patients on their platform, which has substantially de-risked the product.

The platform has customisable consent solutions which help organisations by standardising consent processes, increasing consumer engagement and trust, and improving document management/version control. Stakeholders can have real-time access to data from the consent and enrolment process across single or multiple studies. Data can be sorted and shared based on individual access rights to show participants de-identified data for the staff, site monitor, and institutional review boards. This also allows for remote monitoring of the trial and reducing the visits and costs to the sponsor for these activities. The system will also allow for self-reporting activities in remote scenarios, reducing the number of trips from the patient.
