Open Cosmos

Open Cosmos provides simple and affordable small satellite missions to help solve the world’s biggest challenges, enabling organizations from across a wide range of industries to use space technologies as a tool. Open Cosmos removes space access barriers by simplifying space technology, offering a one-stop-shop to orbit, reducing time and cost. They offer constellation services, in-orbit demonstration services, payload development and qualification services.

Open Cosmos is led by its founder Rafael Jorda Siquier, a Spanish entrepreneur who 10 years ago had the idea to make space more accessible. Three years ago, Open Cosmos was created and set up in the UK at the Harwell Space Cluster, right at the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre. It has now grown to 30+ employees, with a fully-functional laboratory set up and clean room, to build the satellites. Open Cosmos recently raised US$7 million in a Series A round of funding.

We closed a Series A funding round and now Open Cosmos is going through a period of rapid development and expansion. It is incredibly exciting. We are recruiting excellent talent to help us reach out 2018/2019 goals. We will need to secure additional investments and partnerships to continue growing and remain competitive in the small satellite market.

We are looking to capture further investments in the UK market, and speak with contact from the overseas market, particularly those who are focusing on emerging technologies.
