Darren Aston

Managing Director

I joined Aston & James in 1997, at 17 working as a young apprentice to my older Brother. I have grown up with the business and developed my business knowledge and experience whilst continuing my passion for sales and working with a great team, our customers and suppliers. My role and responsibilities have developed since my first role in telesales through to eventually progressing to Managing Director and owner in April 2012.

I enjoy strategically working with our partnerships to delivery excellent service and product range. In true entrepreneurial fashion I love developing new initiatives that help, differentiate, add value and improve efficiency for our customers

Since becoming the owner of Aston & James I have learnt a lot of lessons and gained an immense amount of experience. Which I am happy to share with entrepreneurs and attendees to Venturefest


Craig Aston

Office Furniture Specialist

I have been working for Aston & James for 19 years alongside 5 of my brothers and sisters as well as great colleagues. I thoroughly enjoy working in our family run company and I get a fantastic buzz when helping design new office spaces. I really enjoy helping business’s come up with the right layout and products for their offices and seeing this through to the installation phase. Another big part of what I do is helping individuals with their desk set up ensuring people are not suffering with back pain and have the right chair for their job. Anyone looking to start up a business or develop a business I can help you in your setup and support your ongoing workplace needs. From Office and social spaces to breakout, reception, conference and meeting rooms.


Paul Dean

Business Development

Paul worked for Mattel for 15 years as a General Sales Manager, he retired in 2015 and joined Darren (his son inlaw) to support the business on the Business Development side 1-2 days a week and now holds an Ambassador role helping to support and represent A&J in building relationships across the county. He brings a lot of commercial sense to the business and lots of experience which is vital to a changing and evolving business. Plus he is a super nice guy! He offers a lot of his time to support groups and is well worth a coffee and a chat for his wisdom and worldwide experience.
