Venturefest 2019

Venturefest Oxford is an annual event that brings together innovators, investors and entrepreneurs to make connections that lead to new investments, new businesses and new ideas in the high-tech sector. It’s a gateway for entrepreneurs and innovators to connect with investors and advisors.

Venturefest Oxford celebrates all that is enterprise and innovation, and promotes the commercialisation of innovation. The Innovation Showcase featured some of the most innovative and exciting business innovations from across the region.

Pitching for Success

Pitching for Success was to an audience that includes investors, support organisations and individuals. The 2019 competition was sponsored by Freeths Solicitors

The overall winner, as voted for by the audience was Measurable, who won the £1,000 cash prize.

Prodrive Ventures will provide12 month of business mentoring support to winner, Kymira, to include regular sessions on product roadmap, commercial strategy, route to market including introduction to key supporting partners as relevant.

Oxford Innovation Centres are offering the use of a professional virtual office service (telephone answering and postal mailing address) for 12 months at one of its 24 Innovation Centres for winner, DNApal.

Dehns will provide a tailored IP review, assessing existing and potential IP to be delivered within 12 months for winner, Kymira.

Metro Bank Oxford will engage with winner, MEDeus, to support their needs on a mutually agreed basis.

Richardsons will engage with winner, Cotswold Health Technology (GaitThaw), to support needs on a mutually agreed basis from one of the following: Payroll for up to five employees to March 2020; A review of the company’s eligibility for R&D Tax Credits; or Half a day’s training on the popular Xero cloud-based accounting package.

KPMG will provide a half day ‘finance workshop’ for winner, Luminery (Data Language)

The best potential investment, won by UnityCell will have the opportunity to pitch at an OION Ltd Showcase event with 6 months of Venturefest.
